5 of my favourite new products from CES 2022

After an all online CES last year, 2022 has kicked off with the annual Consumer Electronics Show and all of its weird and wonderful gadgets along with it. There were new electric cars, massive TVs, audio systems and toothbrushes. Here’s some of my favourites:

1.Mercedes Vision EQXX

Mercedes Benz announced a new concept car called the EQXX at CES this year. The electric car has a sleek futuristic design and an interior dominated by one large 8K screen which stretches across the whole dash. The interior also uses materials made from mushrooms, bamboo, cactus and vegan silk to prove that animal products aren’t necessary in a luxury car. However the headlining feature of this new car is its range figures. Whilst most current electric cars can reach up to around 200-300 miles of range, this new Mercedes can do 621 miles on a single charge. This is possible due to having an extremely low drag coefficient of just 0.17. Unfortunately, the car will never be but into production but the powertrain will be available at some point.

2.Samsung’s Eco Remote

Current Samsung TVs come with a remote which can charge the battery with a solar panel, a useful feature meaning you never have to charge the battery’s as long as the remote is left in the sun. The new 2022 version can also charge using radio frequency technology to harvest energy off your Wi-Fi router. You will never need to charge your TV remote again.

3. Samsung’s Freestyle Projector

Samsung had a lot of interesting products this year at CES and one of them was this. The new Freestyle projector. The projector display can range from 30 to 100 inches and doesn’t need a white background as its computer can adjust colours accordingly. However where the projector really puts itself apart from competitors is with its accessories allowing you to convert it into a colour changing lamp. Another accessory allows you to screw it into a ceiling light for downwards projection or to be used as a light source. It will be on sale soon for $899.

4. Asus Zenbook 17 OLED

The new Asus laptop can be used as a traditional laptop with a small 12.5 inch screen. Or you can detach the keyboard and unfold the display to use it as a portable 17 inch monitor or a massive 17inch tablet for Netflix watching. Asus boasts that the computer can fold into anything you want it too!. It has all the latest expensive laptop features like a 12th gen Intel i7 and Dolby Atmos Speakers. Foldable phones are cool but I think foldable laptops are even better.

5. Ible Airvida E1

On the surface these earphones look like normal Bluetooth earphones. They aren’t truly wireless like Apple’s AirPods but do have noise cancelling features like other premium earbuds. However where these headphones are different from the rest is that they have built in Air Purifying technology. These earphones can remove pollen, coronavirus and more from the air around you. Ible says the Airvida E1 produces "negative ions around the user's facial area which can disrupt and breakdown coronavirus’ carbon-hydrogen bond and inactivate them immediately”. Price wise, these earbuds are expected to cost around $250 or £180.
